The Price of Unity
Bible Text: Acts 21:15-36 | Preacher: Pastor Joe Ricchuiti | Series: Acts, The Price of Unity
1. For the sake of unity Paul is called upon to accommodate the weaker faith of the Jewish Christians by participating in and paying for the Nazarite vows of four of the Jewish Christians.
2. Some have wrongly criticized his act as a compromise of the gospel of grace however as many have observed that while it is true that it was not necessary for a Gentile to become a Jew to be saved (which Paul taught), it was also not necessary for a Jew to give up being Jewish to be saved (which Paul did not teach).
3. Accommodation is not compromise if there is no issue of sin or disobedience to the Word of God and if there is a higher principle or consideration at stake (such as witness, peace, unity).
